A fabulous South Florida photo shoot at the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort

Posted on August 22, 2013

Recently I had the great opportunity to participate in a photo shoot along with the talents of Jacqueline Goldman of J. Morgan Flowers and also featuring the magnificent gowns from Boca Raton Bridal. The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort provided the perfect backdrop for the shoot, with its unparalleled beauty. Its interior shimmers with beauty and its outside areas are just as impressive. The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort is located on a pristine stretch of beach in Bal Harbour, just across the street from the fabulous Bal Harbour Shops and just minutes from the energy of Miami’s South Beach

Also on the shoot was the superb South Florida make-up and hair artist, Tatjana Terzic. She is one of our favorite hair and make-up artists by far – every bride becomes absolutely ravishing once Tatjana does her magic! She did an amazing job on our model, Erica Schellenger for the shoot. Many thanks to Tatjana for her tremendous contributions at the St. Regis Bal Harbour photo shoot.

Jacqueline Goldman and wedding planner Aviva Samuels of Kiss the Planner did most of the planning for the shoot, coordinating all the details with Victoria Chase of the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort as well as other contributing vendors. We called upon Tatjana for her talents and Jan Cochran of Boca Raton Bridal to assist in finding the perfect model and the latest in wedding gown fashions. Jan brought along absolutely incredible designer gowns, including one by Kenneth Pool, another by Elizabeth Fillmore and also one by Lazaro. Everybody truly came through with flying colors and the shoot went off without a hitch.

Several rooms in the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort were completely transformed by Jacqueline, who really has taken her company, J. Morgan Flowers to new heights. Her keen design sense and eye for something very different really came through at this shoot. You will see from these photos just how creative she is – using mirrors and lounge furniture to enhance a room’s overall look. Her floral designs were simply breathtaking and vastly unique in their appearance.

As a South Florida wedding photographer, taking part in these types of photo shoots is a real treat. I have plenty of time to work with the models and make sure that everything looks great. Photo shoots that are done outside of an actual wedding afford a photographer the benefit of time, whereas at a wedding there are so many details and people that need to be photographed that often time runs short. It was an absolute pleasure to participate in this photo shoot with such amazing South Florida vendors and professionals as Jacqueline Goldman of J. Morgan Flowers, Jan Cochran of Boca Raton Bridal, Aviva Samuels of Kiss the Planner, make-up and hair artist Tatjana Terzic, and Victoria Chase of the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort. Many thanks to all of them for their enormous contributions to the success of this photo shoot. Let’s do it again soon!

Lauren’s & Michael’s Palm Beach Destination Wedding at The Breakers

Posted on August 16, 2013

This lovely couple met through Lauren’s family – Lauren’s mother actually used to babysit Michael’s father! Lauren had met Michael a few times, but both were dating other people at the time. As Lauren explained it, eventually the timing was right and Michael asked her out. They have been together ever since.

Albert had the recent pleasure of photographing their fabulous wedding at The Breakers in Palm Beach. Currently living in New Jersey, this was definitely planned as a South Florida destination wedding. They selected The Breakers because they fell in love with the timeless feel of the property. Lauren said that it made her feel as if she was in Europe – it’s a truly special place.

As a South Florida wedding photographer, Albert always enjoys working at different venues in the area, but The Breakers of course is always a treat. With its endless array of incredible spaces to photograph brides and grooms, it’s a photographer’s ideal wedding venue. Lauren and Michael were thrilled to do as many photos as time would allow, with some also at St. Ann’s Church in West Palm Beach where their ceremony occurred.

Lauren looked gorgeous in a lovely one-shouldered Maggie Sottero gown from Kleinfeld’s and Jimmy Choo shoes, a most popular choice these days among many brides. The enormously creative Breakers Design Studio handled all of the décor and flowers. Trolleys to transport guests were provided by Molley’s Trolleys. Hair and make-up was done Josie’s Hair and Make-up. Stationary items were created by Meghann Bezdikian. One of the wedding’s most whimsical items was the “chicken” groom’s cake that was quite appropriate since Michael’s family sells chicken.

A beautiful bride!

If you are planning a South Florida destination wedding or specifically a Palm Beach destination wedding, The Breakers Palm Beach is a venue you should be sure to investigate. With its many ballroom options, ranging from really large rooms overlooking the ocean, to more elegant and intimate rooms for smaller affairs, The Breakers really has a space for any event. No matter which room you book – be it the incredibly unique Circle Room, The Venetian Ballroom, The Mediterranean Ballroom, The Magnolia Room, The Gold Room, a Gulfstream Room or even the Beach Club, you will be granted access to all the resort has to offer. Aside from the endless activities and incomparable beach area available for you and your guests, on the day of your wedding you will be able to roam all around the grounds both inside and out – and gather the most amazing wedding photos you have ever imagined. Of course, you’ll need a great South Florida photographer to do this! It is preferable to hire someone who does have some familiarity with The Breakers and also one who is on the referral list of the resort. Jeff Kolodny Photography offers all this and more. Whether it is Jeff or Albert and the rest of their team, we offer a wide array of custom photography and video options for the discerning bride and groom.

Fabulous decor by the incredible Breakers Design Studio.

What a night!

Scottie & Ryan’'s Wedding Video

Posted on August 15, 2013

We wanted to share this glimpse of Scottie and Ryan’s recent destination wedding at The Breakers in Palm Beach. Scottie said she grew up going to The Breakers with her family and always knew she would get married there. Ryan knew this, so he arranged a trip for what Scottie thought was a weekend getaway and he actually proposed to her at The Breakers on the ocean lawn. The next day they picked the venue and 6 months later they were married! Scottie explained that she and Ryan met through a mutual friend at a downtown bar in Dallas. They dated for about a year before getting engaged but quickly became very close and it wasn’t hard to tell that they were meant for each other.

Scottie was truly radiant for her Palm Beach wedding, in a Vera Wang gown from Neiman Marcus Bridal Salon in Dallas and Jimmy Choo shoes. Their wedding allowed me to take advantage of all the fabulous locations The Breakers Palm Beach has to offer. We spent as much time as possible roaming the venue, both inside and out, shooting photos along the way. As a South Florida wedding photographer, I always love photographing weddings at The Breakers. The venue is so expansive, with a pristine beach, exquisitely manicured gardens and an opulent interior. Sara Renee of Sara Renee Events served as the Wedding Planner for this event. Katie Gillespie of The Breakers was the Catering Manager in charge of the event.

Many couples opt to have a Palm Beach destination wedding and The Breakers is one of the predominant venues in this area. With numerous ballrooms of varying sizes, The Breakers can easily accommodate more than one large affair in a day. No matter what the size of the event, The Breakers has a space that will perfectly suit the event. From the Venetian Ballroom to the Mediterranean Ballroom, the Magnolia Room, Gold Room, the Beach Club or even the Gulf Stream Rooms – The Breakers offers a plethora of options for any sized wedding or event.

Inviting guests to a Palm Beach destination wedding is a real treat. Guests will enjoy all that South Florida has to offer – the world-class beaches, magnificent shopping and other local attractions that are unique to the area. There is no lack of things to do here rain or shine. If they choose to stay at a venue like The Breakers they will surely enjoy top of the line service, a luxurious room and all the amenities this 5 star resort has to offer. Planning a destination wedding at The Breakers Palm Beach is always a great choice – for not only the bride and groom, but their guests as well.
