Elegance in Ocean Reef Club

Posted on February 18, 2015

People might say it’s because of the place why this wedding was elegant (Ocean Reef Club is an exclusive resort) but nope, it’s all because of the details! Our couple, Liz and Eamon, did well when it came to their style choices. The blue, white, and silver combination was a perfect elegant palette for a beach side wedding. And the amount of navy blues really highlighted the whites – just like their bridesmaids wearing a floor length blue dress with matching white bouquets. It was truly an amazing day for this couple. Congratulations Liz & Eamon

What is the overall story for this album?
Eamon and I met at just a neighborhood bar in Philly. Mutual friends had organized a happy hour after work. We are both ENT residents at the Univ of Penn My family has been members at Ocean Reef since I was young. I always knew I wanted to have my wedding there. It is just such a beautiful place filled with great memories for me. There wasn’t really a theme. We tried to overall make it really elegant and beautiful but not stuffy, we wanted it to be a really fun party

What were the highlights from the ceremony & reception?
There were some really heartfelt and amusing speeches during the reception.

Having a wedding at the Ocean Reef Club is very special. Situated in Key Largo, this is an extremely high-end exclusive resort where one must either be a member to have a wedding there OR be sponsored by a member. The place is gorgeous and boasts multimillion dollar homes and yachts everywhere you look. Liz and Eamon’s wedding reception was held outdoors with a warm island breeze blowing, right on the water.

Colorful Jewish Interfaith Wedding in Japanese Gardens FL

Posted on February 11, 2015

Renee and Nick have known each other for the majority of their lives, classmates from kindergarten through their undergraduate days at Georgetown University. But it wasn’t until recently that the two went from friends to fiances, and now husband and wife!

The couple married in a gorgeous Jewish Interfaith wedding at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in South Florida, a place that holds a special place in the hearts of both Renee and Nick. Photos captured by Jeff Kolodny Photography.

Renee and her father attended an event The Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens at the very beginning of her relationship with Nick. At the event, Renee decided to paint something for Nick. Nick placed the painting in his wallet where it has stayed for over 10 years! Over the last decade, the couple has attended the Gardens together numerous occasions, and when it came time to pick a wedding venue it was a no brainer. These photos prove why!

Renee and Nick come from mixed backgrounds religiously and culturally, so they designed their ceremony from scratch with the help of celebrant Peggy M. Lewis. The beautiful ceremony overlooked a river and bridge, and took place under a vibrant chuppah with flowing purple and white fabric along with suspended flowers.

Renee looked stunning in a fit and flare satin gown, perfectly accessorized with a crystal necklace and delicate bouquet.

Her shoes featured a glamorous mix of lace, pearls and crystal embellishments.

A harpist and singers serenaded guests, adding a romantic touch to the venue.

The color scheme for the affair was purple, gold, pink, green and ivory. These fun hues along with twinkling string lights provided great pops of color against the natural beauty of the Gardens.

It’s all in the details, and Jeff Kolodny did an unbelievable job of catching them all, from the bunches of lavender that served as seating cards, to the fun llamas dressed as bride and groom.

The wedding invitation and engagement ring were also creatively captured by the photographer.

Let them eat cake! A gorgeous cake adorned with edible flower petals was served to guests.

Beautiful chocolates were also presented, making for a sweet end to the night!

There is nothing we love more than seeing the couple enjoying their affair.

Though the details of the wedding were amazing, they all pale in comparison to the beauty of the couple themselves!

Renee shared some tips for future bride-to-be’s, suggesting not to be afraid to do things your way when planning your big day. From choosing who to incorporate in your bridal party, to deciding what to wear, do what makes you happy and what is going to make your special day as special as it can be! Renee couldn’t have been happier to do things exactly as she wanted, even if they were considered non-traditional. Thanks for your advice Renee, and Mazel Tov to you and Nick!

ART DECO WEDDING INSPIRATION AT EDEN ROC, FL

Posted on February 2, 2015

Feb 2, 2015 by Lauren
Shira and Yonatan first met on a Hillel organization trip to Israel and later returned to the site of their meeting for the proposal. Yonatan surprised Shira with a trip back to Tel Aviv where he proposed to her on the water with the city as the background. Below you'll find their Florida wedding at the Eden Roc Miami Beach and you won't be able to tear your eyes away

As Shira is from Florida, it only made sense to have her wedding in the Sunshine State near the beach. At the Eden Roc they could host their ceremony outdoors and then move into the art deco ballroom for their reception. For the ceremony decor, they kept things simple by adding romantic flowers in whites and soft pinks with touches of gold. This same color scheme also carried over into the hotel's ballroom. A special touch that made their ceremony even more meaningful, was that the bride's grandfather, Rabbi Bramnick conducted it and he also performed her parent's ceremony when they were married.
